III.11 Herculaneum, September 2016. Statuette of Atthis, (centre). Photo courtesy of Michael Binns.
According to a photo on page 58 of Maiuri’s book, this statuette was photographed in front of a table, near the north wall of room 2.
The wording on page 59 suggests that this table was actually found in an upper room of the house.
(trans: And so far as the house had been ably ransacked with tunnels and galleries on each side, found from an upper-floor room was a precious table in Epirote marble (Molossium), supported by a single table support in the image of Atthis, which had miraculously escaped the Bourbon searchers - the most beautiful example that you have of this kind of genere of figured table, among the many we have recovered from the underground of Pompeii.)
