V.1 Herculaneum. May 2010.  Decorated floor of atrium, near impluvium. The opus signinum (cocciopesto) flooring in the atrium was set with a regular pattern of white tesserae and a decorated “rope” mosaic.  The base of the impluvium was lined with marble.
